You know, I like the fact that you had to suck Nic off just to get your unpaid internship back, but now that you've basically admitted to abusing your ~ superpowers simply to shitpost, I don't see why you still need to be on the team. If anything, you've become a liability to this game in my eyes.

Lmao, you think the map is small? It's actually 50% bigger than the default europe+ map. This map is a prototype to see how well classic ww1 stands out with better borders. As for trenches you can take them and put them up your ass. I refuse to have a map with noob trenches

Hoi2 and Darkest Hour are games with a ww1 setting and neither of those have trenches. I don't see why MY map and MY scenario should have trenches as a requirement to be a "proper" ww1 game.

Hoi 2 doesnt cover ww1....Darkest hour still made with more modern warfare in mind with ww1 being just one out of many others campaigns,still if enemy resist ,you at best will be moving slowly province by province,there are forts too and digging in later in the game which is pretty much the trench,in your map you can easily bunny hop troops from south italy to vienna in 1 turn

It's a low quality rendered version of the original file that is then compressed even further by the map editor.

If the editor allowed, i wouldn't mind uploading a 50 MB background but the theorical limit is 10 - while the practical limit is like 5 MBs as more than that and the shitty map editor will crash

Aetius WW1 still only comprehensive WW1 map out there, majority of the haters don't like trenches which fails to recognise how the war was marginally fought.

On the subject on trenches: As someone who has spent the majority of his adult life studying the war in autistic detail, I don't really believe a series of no-go zones is an accurate enough way of representing a conflict by which inches of land were fought over for year in a back-and-forth struggle. Rather, I've always admired the simplicity of earlier WW1 maps and scenarios in which the players themselves made the trenches after beginning the game. I understand that many fans of Aetius' WW1 like the way he did things, and I hear you. What we'll do is this: When the map is ready for testing, we'll explore every possible avenue of implementation of different features. I had originally planned on making a Scenario version and a neutral basemap (with modifications) as a competitive one. Along with these two variants, I don't see why we can't make a "Classic" or "(In honor of) Aetius" variant with his features for his fans. Of course we would give him credit for those features in that variant if it's made as well; Is this something you all would like to see?
