How do I execute land passages

I keep on seeing posts here detailing expansions where they move transports over short patches of land, such as parts of denmark and near nantes, but I can't seem to replicate these moves myself. Mind if someone shows me?
I don't have any transport or inf upgrades yet.

You don't need any upgrade. you should start with an easy one like this one:

Narrow land strips:
1. Move transport to one shore.
2. Move trans over the land strip, just enough so the dotted line gets white.

Wider la strips:
1. Move transport to one shore
2. Move transport a little further land inside (max of still white dotted line)
3. Move transport over the shore, just enough so the dotted line gets white.

The only way to manage these movements is to practice them.
Like Sator said, start with Italy and other simple ones and then move to more complex ones like Brittany passage and the Hamburg-Denmark passage.
