We all know what is going on with this strategy. Literally the less versatile, harder to play, costly (in SP) and weakest game-play of all the strategies. I guess there is no need to introduction.

My proposal is to make the HW militias a defensive unit.
Currently they have 4 attack, 2 defense and 3 range which forces you to attack with them (As they are so weak that even one IMP infantry could kill them). By making them a defensive unit the strategy would have 2 offensive units and 2 defensive units, trust improving the reuse of the units.

So the current boost (+1 att, -1 def, +1 range) would'be changed to: (+1 def, +2 range).

I like this idea. even without the +1 attack, you can still attack with them because of that range. atm if u attack anything with militia, you can't hold it. its almost better to attack with marines because its the same defense

this, your solution would help hw clovis, but it wont address its' overall weakness which you described in another thread regarding the lack of versatility with the units. If we attempt to fix this by making changes to to the tanks or inf we will usurp gc. If we touch the marines it wont fix the problem and pushes the strat towards gw. Altering other units wont address its' weakness unless we change the dynamic of the strat entirely.

The strat achieved tophats vision of being a hybrid of both types of warfare but it can never be competitive. Removing it and replacing it with a better alternative seems like the best option.

Desu had an interesting stealth defence concept regarding flipping the stats of marines. I'll bug him to post it once hes active again. There was also cthulhus suggestion.

Again I stress the fact that you can't fully claim it isn't competitive by not allowing the majority of the player base to try it by making it such high SP. I agree, it may never be PD or SM, but it has the potential to be a fun, semi-competitive (already is), and decent strategy. Cthulhu made it work on world, Sultan made it work for France and Ukr, etc etc. I suggest implementing Clovis' suggestion, and maybe not making tanks +10 cost, and making it a free or 5-15k SP strat, as a trial. Try it for a few months and see if anyone manages to make it a decent strategy for the competitive scene, and perhaps it would work on other maps the way MoS and Blitz do *cough*Destoria*cough*.

If you really have the urge to remove a strat then LB is your prime candidate.

Yeah, I had that though after playing the gauntlet too. However it doesn't looks like the community had surrendered up with the concept of this strategy. Trying to look for a fix to the strategy seems like something that would have more acceptance.

I think implementing theses changes would'be accepted easier than deleting the strategy...

Not really, LB is fine as it is. You may not notice this on default map where units have too low stats though... But when one unit with 150 or more att/def stats(Usually trenches) scores a critical hit, it is really deadly. That made LB popular in several scenarios already (credits to karlscher151 for exploiting this though), and as for Europe I believe that AlexMeza had posted some interesting facts about LB.

Actually i can, and i did and with good reason. The other top tier players, even clovis who is usually contrarian agrees. The ball is in your court. Go out there into the wilderness of aw and find me a country and setting where hw is the best strat choice. Find me its' niche. Semi-competitive, playable and workable arent good enough.

Id like to see lb removed too, like hw it offers nothing new. At least it has a niche, albeit an uncommon underused one(high income maps with high unit stats ie RPs). But if any strats are to be removed there should a replacement.

Exactly! Make it a free or a 5-15k SP strat just for a trial period before fully removing HW, so that I and others can try it out and possibly find its natural habitat. I'm not saying HW is great, good, or fine, but I'm saying it's decent enough to not remove UNTIL LETTING OTHER PLAYERS TRY IT. That's not asking much, considering if this change is made effective immediately there will be enough time between now and whenever admins make the decision of removing it/adding a new strat. Realistically, you're not going to remove HW until it's replaced, and realistically to actually decide on this new strategy (which I'm really excited about don't get me wrong) is going to take you a fair amount of time. This top-tier player base that have tested HW are how many players exactly... 5? 10? 20? Hey, if you don't want to make HW cheaper then give me the SP for it for the sake of possibly saving this strat or making a solid final decision of removing it, and I'll take on this crusade on my own. Remove the SP when I'm done, and I promise I'll spend every single game on AW excluding CWs, duels, and tourney games playing HW. I promise if I do not find a country where you can play a solid HW I'll claim exactly that, but if you do make this happen and I actually find its niche you have to accept that fact.
