What goes on in people's minds that decides who lives and who dies?

I always seem to be chosen to die while others who are are worse off are allied with. I was in a game as indonesia and at one point had captured all of indochina, but was killed off. Kazzimmino, restrained to south africa by an invading south america, was allied with and now is among the victors of the game. And sometimes it's not me thats chosen to die, but rather someone else. How is who lives and who dies chosen?

Many, many, many factors come into play. You can't really explain it- but people who are just "playing" will ally anyone they feel like for no particular reason. A "serious" player will weigh his/her option on allying or warring a specific person. "Will he help me? "Will she be a burden?"

I'd prefer for everyone to die so I get all SP, but sometimes you need to ally to win. That's all that comes into play for me; I refuse to ally allyfags too.

I think the problem is that you ally everyone. Don't ally with people you don't trust and you won't get screwed over.
I only ally people I know to be trustworthy and I never break alliances.

Find trustworthy people. Enemy list betrayers.

NEVER Trust newts, aka, Neutral players who are allied to your enemy. They will ALWAYS betray one of you. They will get bored or they absorb important areas between you. Some of the time, it can't be helped but if they are some ally fag that FORCES you into an alliance position because of there ally fagging, then ally them and kill them after.

Ally faggers put you in a position where they ally everyone. If you don't accept, you will be the one single non-ally they have. Which forces you to ally.

Kill these people. Always. They need to learn that their behavior is not acceptable.

On a more serious note, I often try to portray a war from a long time ago. Like for example, I pick Russia: Central alot. If there is a Germany, I may go to war with him to portray WWII.

As Tik-Tok said, you kind of get forced into allying some people. I normally ally them, unless they are close to me, since 90% of them are rank 4-. If they are over 3, then I kill them later.

I also ally people who I know would put up a fight that would drastically put me out of my way, or even beat me. For example, if I pick Russia: Central, and somebody else who is rank 5+ picks Iran, I would try to ally them, because I know Iran has more power than Russia: Central. If Im Russia, and I stretch out all the way to Russia: Far East (Which I normally do), I may go to war with China because I wouldnt be going out of my way, as China is far away.

Late joiners die. Nuff' said. These guys need to be taught their lesson.

I know ally breaking is gay and most high ranks say this but a lot of them are Hypocrites. Most of the time iv seen High Ranks who fight one challenging person ex: fighting Rank 10s and 9s. Lets say they win and they own a continent and are allied with everybody so dcide to build up their forces then attack you for stupid reasons like SP and shit.

I usually never break alliance unless they allyfagged/allied my enemy. I don't care about SP (because I am beating aristosseur and that is my only goal) so I'm happy to give my allies SP.
