Matthew008 fraud duels

Don't duel this guy, unless you are 200% sure about victory conditions.

His usual move is to start a game, then make you look like you win and ask for a duel in game. What you are not supposed to know is that the victory condition is some weird city that is out of your reach and easy for him to capture.

This may not be against standard atwar policy, because everybody can look up settings, but i consider it fraud nonetheless. He uses this method successfully against so many newer players it's a shame.

Was too lazy to make screeshots. Just wanted to let people know. I guess whoever reads this wont be trapped by such cheap tricks. Mods and developers might want to do something about it nonetheless, because of all the newer players who are being abused.

Not the first time he does this.... also happened the last season.

More seriously, I do not understand why admins allow duels inside multiplayer games, a duel is a 1v1 from the start, it is quite straightforward...

As for Mathew, I talked with him and he says
1) Ivan personally told him what he is doing is perfectly ok
2) he is actually being clever by using an "alternative strategy" to win games, there are "more than 1 way to play this game"

When I read Bonker and (supposely) Ivan's remarks (and many other high ranks), Conlucion is quite simple: This is fucking hopeless

It may be the responsibility of the player to check settings. However OP clearly felt it was HIS responsibility to make the community aware of this situation. This is just an info thread.

It's obviously extreme interpretation to pinpoint something: u blame the victims...

Now just imagine if this kind of behavior was to spread across atwar, 1/2 the games made by cheeky guys changing rules last sec before launching the game etc...

And since u like to quote rules:

In my view allowing to duel someone outside the original 1v1 situation is a bug, it's just non-sense

1.3. The term "Farming" is used to describe the process of playing a game with the sole purpose of gaining SP or ELO. This is considered cheating and exploitative and is not allowed. For example: Joining a game with 2 accounts, playing with first and second coalitions, playing or creating a scenario/map for gaining SP or ELO only.

In my view he is infringing that rule too, creates a game he cant lose with the sole purpose of tricking noobs into giving away ELO

Anyway like said, Admins don't give a damn, Mods either, and half the Atwar Community are hillbillies so....

Please dont over dramatize this - this is very simple - the guy didn't check the settings and lost some elo towards his chance at a fancy picture on his profile page stating he is good at dueling - big deal move on, nobody cares.

Wrong. That mentality makes for underdeveloped and unevolved sheeps. If our ancestors shared this line of thinking we would still living in huts. It is our duty as citizens (and players) to critisize and judge constructively rules and regulations that we find wrong, unfair or outdated and push for new rules and regulations that guarantee our protection, when the current rule set cant. Thats how we evolved.

The op should have raised his concerns to relevant people. If my mother or sister was indeed robbed I would not be going to the press immediate now....
