Tag! Today i'm here to show you my latest labor of love, 1346. As we all know, by 1346 the Hundred years' war had already begun with two opposing sides: The house of Valois, and The house of Plantagenet. We also know Valois won- but that doesn't mean anything now!

Play as either side and decide who will secure the French throne!
Did I mention it's also Historically accurate as possible, has two teams' of three, and includes such units as the Crusader and Trebuchet?

Oh, and it has Archer's instead of bombers.

I based the political map off of this amazing map from WHKMLA,

As it progresses through alpha, be sure to comment and rate my scenario so I can better improve it, but remember- BALANCING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN HISTORICAL ACCURATENESS. Cheers, and enjoy!

The man that made that map has been playing far too much Mediaeval: Total War and ignoring two big things. Firstly, the Holy Roman Empire was a bit of a non-country and extremely disunited, not to mention poor and on the verge of collapse. Russia was definitely not united at all, but they did have a common enemy (Mongol hordes).

Secondly, there are a bunch of weird allocations in that map. Trebizond is Neapolitan? Navarre is that small (language-wise it would be though)? Athens is Sardinian? The lands in the Arctic Circle above Russia belong to the papal states.

I've never heard of "Medieval: Total war", besides ncm and other guys from solunae helped me think of different aspects. I am aware of country's names being a little off, but again, it is alpha, and it's these things pointed out that make testing all the worth while. About the HRE, if you noticed- the political map of Europe "disunites" the HRE later in history- in the 1300';s, it was still it's own entente. Plus, I can't add brandenburg, Bayern or Freisland as their own countries, so the HRE stands. Plus- Ive already states historical accurateness is not my top goal, having a good/fun/balanced map is. Where did I put Russia on the map? Kievan Rus' was definitely an entente at that time. I should also mention 85% of the world map is unplayable, so this should not matter one bit. If you are trolling, you're doing a piss-poor job.

I'm trying to make the units far more diverse than other medieval period scenario's, so sorry but cavalry will not be added.

I recommend you nerf England and the HRE significantly, and add some neutrals in-and-around the area that became known as Austro-Hungary several centuries later.

I tried it and so far, in my oppinion:

- Very luck based, since it's possible to first turn block every enemy capital in the first turn.
- Not very historically accurate
- Too small, providing no expansion or skill based movements

I liked the "Archer" idea and you might use walls (as I told you in-game) to avoid rushing and make build up divisions of countries.

- Unbalanced
- Not very historically accurate

Glad I can help

First:
"Not very historically accurate"
If you can tell me a way to draw a line on Iberia separating Castile and Aragon tell me I will, but so far that is not possible. If you mean the HRE- before 1400 it was still more of a single entente than after. If you mean Genoa, I gave it north Africa because it had economical relations with it, and it had to be balance with the HRE.

Second:
"Too small"
My goal with this map was to make players think of what to do- i'm sick of every game being the same process, now instead of spamming a bunch of tank-esque units, you have to make a wall to protects your clay WHILE you spend on making attack units, you have to conserve your money INSTEAD of invading neutrals for more money. So in other words, I wanted it to be a "hard to play" map unless you know what your doing.

Third:
"Unbalanced"
Please go into detail with this- as it would make it easier TO balance it if you did (Note: 1346 is in Alpha testing, so many things will be changed by full release)

Danka.
