Very enlightening comment. The problem here is I highly doubt the very head of this infrastructure who claim to be Islamic State are not religious at all, and are merely following an agenda. Your solution is a good one, and it would target the young recruits who are blowing themselves and others up, but trying to sway whoever is behind the whole mask of ISIS will not work by an ideological war because said person/people are in a materialistic one. Their power is based on them considering themselves as Muslims, but the people behind ISIS are definitely not in it as Jihad/a noble fight for Allah. Same goes for religion, in this case Islam. There is no right or definitive Islam. Google "branches and sects of Islam" and you will get a list of dozens of believes based on diferent perceptions of the Qur'an. How many Christian religions are there? How many versions of Buddhism and Hinduism?
Compile a list of all religions of the world and their sub-branches/sects. Then point me to the right religion with the right branch and the right sect. The one that will get you to heaven and not see you burn in hellfire. The one you can claim to teach the Qur'an, Bible, etc. correctly?

As for the no killing part, I do not think you are right about that. Killing is sanctioned and justified in Islam. This is exactly where you make of the Qur'an what you want to make of it. Yes it says if you kill one human being it is as if you killed all mankind. Yes it also tells you to mercilessly go after your enemies if they attack you.
Now if you are ISIS, you justify yourself with the latter verse of the Qur'an, as it is the infidel West and their constant invasions/interventions you are fighting. If on the other hand you're normal and stable soul you will find other peaceful solutions and a lot of consolation in the Qur'an.
And again, in the end it doesn't matter what you think they are or they are not. It only matters what they think they are and how other people relate to that.

I think you are heavily underestimating the power of medias.

Whatever is it, I am confident about most mulish being rather good people and sane followers of the Islam. So far I've never hear anything related to terrorism from Indonesia, which holds the largest mulish population in the world.

Medias are so strong, that a dog who dies in U.S would receive more covering than all the people who dies everyday in Syria, just like with Rwanda's genocide in the 1980's . Of course it varies depending of your country. Here in Dominican Republic back when the Boston attempt, it was covered in almost all local news (with "covered" I don't mean just show the new and that is, but a many pages of the news dedicated to it in different days. It was also broadcast in Tv quite a lot of times).

To sum up, it doesn't matter if you are good or many people from your community are good. It is all about how the medias broadcast it.

I think you are heavily underestimating the power of medias.

Whatever is it, I am confident about most mulish being rather good people and sane followers of the Islam. So far I've never hear anything related to terrorism from Indonesia, which holds the largest mulish population in the world.

Medias are so strong, that a dog who dies in U.S would receive more covering than all the people who dies everyday in Syria, just like with Rwanda's genocide in the 1980's . Of course it varies depending of your country. Here in Dominican Republic back when the Boston attempt, it was covered in almost all local news (with "covered" I don't mean just show the new and that is, but a many pages of the news dedicated to it in different days. It was also broadcast in Tv quite a lot of times).

To sum up, it doesn't matter if you are good or many people from your community are good. It is all about how the medias broadcast it.
