There has been a lot of talk about moderators, abuse and injustice recently. I think there are a lot of valid points being bought up but one thing I notice that hasn't really been spoken about in a long time is how active a lot of these moderators are. Now I know it isn't a job and it's more a role to help the admins keep tabs on the game and it's playerbase but do you really think it is fair having someone with this sort of power that doesn't play the game at all?

My point being is how can you make important decisions when you're barely part of the community?

There is nothing we can do about it. All we can do is suggest changes, but it is up to the mods/admins to accept them. Let's just stay where we are now.

On a larger scale i think mods should just allow the critics.

It's one thing to make a constructive critic, and another to blame someone personaly for personal matters.

But evacuate every critic by the fact that " we're humans and not paid to moderate " is irrelevant.

1st : No one force u to be a mod, u probably beged for it so assume it.

2nd : Inactive mods should just be demoted and recruit new active mods, as simple as that.

And it's absolutely necessary to ban / demote / delete acquiesce.

He's an abusive mod, i've tons of ss proving it.

(Those two last sentences are ironics, don't ban me please).

- They don't know the new players, which is important when u think 2 minutes about it ;

- They have no notion of the current game state (activities, crashes, ddos...) ;

- They lost motivation or have no time to be useful to the community ;

- They don't follow any debat on the forum (the useful ones) ;

But beyond all of this let's put it this way : how useful are they if they're inactive ; wouldn't it be more efficient to get new and motivated mods instead of them ?

PS : In your message you mention mods that doesn't play. Trystane meant mods who simply are inactive, so did i

1) You are saying they don't know the new players and procceed to elaborate yet you talk about something else. So I ask, why is it important for mods to know any player?

2) Why does it matter if they do? Like what difference will one have if he knows or not if there has been a ddos? How will it affect his way of moderating?

3) Again what us the difference?

Please notice that I'm talking about a moderator who just doesn't play the game and not one who is simply innactive.

Well considering we're not talking about the same thing (and, if i might be so bold, u're talking about something alone cause trystane was just evocating the inactive ones) i think your argumentation is irrelevant.

But because i like to argue i'll answer point / point.

1. It's a matter of liability, and please be honest, every person treat differently a request based on what u know of the person who ask. If u have for example a duel cancellation request and u know that the player who ask is honest, fair-play etc... u will treat it differently. So the fact that u know the new players is indeed important, altho cause it's, for those new players, a recognition of their investment and legitimacy, not always the same song : " it was way better years ago, now this game sucks, u will never be part of the real community " (i just notice that i don't care my self, i'm just noticing the fact) ;

2. Well it's not necesseraly changing the way they moderate, but when u have responsabilities in an institution (corporate, administration etc...) not knowing its current states, which are close to be lethal for some (considering the exasperation of some players with the ddos) is a shame. Some noobs know better about the game state that some mods.... OK. If u don't see any problem in that, maybe u shouldn't be mod (ok that's a provocative joke) ;

3. I don't know whether u mention my 3rd or my 4th point, so i cannot answer.

Again, and please answer to this : how useful are they if they are INACTIVE. We want new mods to counter the abusive mods like acquiesce.

As I explained to Sid after he moved this thread into a hidden forum, this thread doesn't talk about mods who don't play but are involved in the community, like Lemonade and Google. This thread talks about mods like Desu, Pulse, Milky, Madara, Meester, Caulerpa, Hugosch, etc. that don't know what the state of the game is and what the state of the community is, and it seems that it doesn't interest them much to tell the truth. If we remove them from Mod position, we'll not miss a lot, on the contrary, it might encourage mods to be more active and engaging with the community. If not, at least the list of mods will be up-to-date with active community leaders who are here to help.

No point explaining to you if you don't understand the difference between the 'role' and the 'job'...

If you don't want to play but just mod, then it's your job and you have no right to complain how you are doing this 'just filling up free time' and this is not your job.

1) It will probably be hard to believe, but we treat each player adjectively and put our current state with them aside.

2) That's not how it works in AtWar. I get what you mean, but nothing can be lethal in AtWar anymore.

3) For some reason I skipped your 3rd arguement and moved on to the 4th one.

I can't say I disagree to that.

I think we all agree on the fact that the mods that hdrakon mentionned in his comment should be demote and replace (if the current mod team think it's necessary) by others.

Do we ?

I personaly don't care, i just think it would be nice to some new faces (and acquiesce KICKED OUT).
