[Forum Nations RP] Introduction

This will be a semi-role play game based on modern nation states.

What you do, is select a nation to play as, and then guide it to world conquest. It is mostly role play based, with no true set of rules on anything except military actions, which will be detailed later in this post. However, non-military actions (such as technology, especially) can effect the outcome of battles. Although the NPCs will most likely be mostly passive and inactive, present day issues do apply to NPC diplomacy (American forces deployed about the globe, crisis in Libya, NATO and the EU alliances, etc.) so take note of that before making any major changes to your nation's foreign policy.

How military works: I will not be recording exact numbers of anything, because the game becomes too cumbersome. This is something I have tried to do before, and it never works when trying to keep track of exact numerals, so don't ask for it. Instead, I will use a general word bank and ratings to determine armies and the outcome of battles. The word bank is like this:

Quantity: None, Miniscule, Small, Average, Big, Massive, All-Consuming
Quality: Peasant, Militia, Draft, Trained, Specialist, Professional, Invincible

So, for example, Israel would probably start with a "Miniscule Professional Army" military rating, while North Korea would start with a "Massive Militia Army" military rating. Military ratings can be increased through technology gains (mostly improves quality), conquests (which free up resources needed to better train and equip men), diplomacy (trading and the like), and politics (drafts, nationalizing the military industry, etc.).

At last, income of every nation will be counted by their resources, landmass, population, people's wealth, factory number, and diplomatic relations. You don't need to worry about counting any big numbers, it will be done by a third party.
