What will I do if my cap is being rushed by someone with a general and I don't have reinforcements? I'm simply dead.
I also want to discuss the fact that with generals you can have farther and bigger expansion at first turn than those who don't have generals. I'm not complaining here, I'm just trying to point out the fact that generals make the game unbalanced. Now if you tell me to kill the general that is valid and I can do that but the main point here is what about the other things? Expansion can have a huge impact on the game you are in. Faster and better expansion = More units and more money. So what I would want is that either they make a game option to have no generals or that like in old aw we all have generals.
I used to play without general. Trust me. It doesn't make big difference. You can still win a lot duels without gen. It does matter sometimes, for example in 3k, 5k or rushing tho. Yet, player pay for generals so you must give them some slight advantages.

As for the topic, people pay for generals, yet generals require upgrades to be valuable at all. SP spent on generals cannot be allocated elsewhere, and generals only effect a single stack, not the entire playing field. Suggesting they are OP is far from the truth IMO. And if you disagree, but premium. If you cannot afford premium, then play some big maps, get some Protocoin drops and buy yourself a subscription.

I think such complaints should be taken serious, because no game that took the route into the pay2win land is playable and attracting new players. (I don't see this to apply for AW yet though)
PD has more defence than that. You're forgetting the defence bonuses.
Normal inf have a 1 defence bonus in the city, so it's
10x7 = 70 Def
PD inf have an extra 1 defence bonus in the city, so it's 9 defence per inf in total (7+1+1 city bonus)
10x9 = 90 Def
With a gen this gets one more:
10x10= 100 Def
AND if they're attacking with the most common and cheapest offensive unit - tanks, PD gets an EXTRA +1 Def bonus against that, so with a general with PD against a tank it's
10x11 = 110 Def
that's 110 Def for 500 cost with cost upgrade, or the equivalent cost of just over 4 normal tanks, which can put out a minute fraction of that attack. Now tell me that's not OP
On topic, I don't have a general. I've never used one, and it really only makes a difference if you think it does. Just let them think they're better than you because they have a general, and then it becomes their weakness. I have played competitively for over a year now, and have defended against a maximum rush by Skenderbu, to name just one example. This does not make me better (normally I'm dust compared to him), but would he have rushed if I had a general?
Forget your worries and enjoy the game. And consider every victory over a player with a gen is demonstrating your superior skill over a player that should have an advantage. The work might be harder, but when all is counted, it's worth it.
