Despite Writing beginning on Pakrau Insula very little is known about life on the island in the Before Time. One would assume as an immortal race the elves could simply think back and remember what happened and write it down. Unfortunately one thing that is known about the before time is that no elf who lived in the Before Time was still alive by the end of the first Age.

The first writings Described the Kingdom of Duwaldenvaru on Pakrau Insula as an island paradise ruled over by a wise and just ruler Nirime also known as The First King. They also describe the creation of Pakrau Insula many thousands of years before the first age. The Goddess Izlardius took a barren rock on the edge of Omnia and transforms it into a beautiful green work of art. At the time Gods were forbidden from creating mortal beings but Izlardius defies the law of the gods and creates the first clan of elves. Izlardius ensures no natural god has any reason to find the elves and they can remain a secret by making them unaffected by mortal ailments including Death and Time. The Goddess also makes the elves promise to leave no trace of their existence anywhere where anyone could find it. Izlardius became very fond of 1 of the elves above the others and that elf was Nirime who she would eventually appoint ruler of all elves. The Goddess would revisit the island every few hundred years or so to live amongst her creation for short periods.

Though Duwaldenvaru is universally accepted as the birth place of written word some writings do predate the first writings of Duwaldenvaru, The writings of the Desrikauzra are on such record. They too describe the creation of Pakrua Insula but they differ wildly in regard to Narime. Most of the writings are actually focused around Narime and the war of the 7 clans. They claim Narime was not apart of the first generation of elves and was actually a part of the 3rd. Izlardius visits twice more after the birth of the 3rd generation. In her first visit she met Narime and the 2 did indeed become friends, but Narime wanted more than friendship prompting an abrupt departure of the Goddess after being their for only a year and a half. Narime is shunned and bullied by the other elves who refer to him as an abomination. Narime leaves his home and travels the island for several years avoiding contact with all other living things until finally he makes his new home in Nalfraitos.

After a few centuries living amongst the Nalfraitos clan Narime becomes a respected and high ranking member. He uses his position to overthrow the clan leadership and assume control for himself. Narime considers himself a prophet now and preaches his own variation of history. Though several living elves often contradict his version its rarely said because it is treated as treason. Narime is known for spur of the moment decisions which he considers divine intervention. One of these decisions was to unify the elves of Duwaldenvaru. Narime uses powerful magic and advanced weaponry never seen before in the world to quickly conquer the other clans. The survivors from the clan have no choice but to leave the island or die and so they leave becoming the Desrikauzra.

The writings of Duwaldenvaru first adress The Desrikauzra in the Middle First Age, they are described as barbaric Pirates with ludicrous beliefs. Several attacks on coastal regions are recorded but no response from Narime who refuses to chase them off of the island. This culminates in the late first age with a brutal invasion of Duwaldenvaru by the Desrikauzra. The pirates target civilian populations first and then ambush the military sites when they are deployed in response. Despite the extreme success of this tactic they are vastly outnumbered by Duwaldenvaru. As a last resort a small elite team is sent to assassinate Namire in his sleep in a suicide mission but this too fails. In response to this the elvish army leaves the island for the first time and they hunt the Desrikauzra to extinction along with all trace of their existance.

One Desrikauzra sympathizer who was close with Narime recorded in his personal journal The last visit of Izlardius in the early first age. The Goddess confronted Narime in his throne room in front of many of his subjects. She was disgusted with his actions in unifying the elves and the corruption of her creations. The King pleaded and groveled for her forgiveness but she cursed the island to vanish from the world one day and she would try again with a better race instead of the embarrassment the elves had become. Then she left the island forever, and the king had all of the witnesses killed.
